Accident Checklist

Here are some points to consider when involved in an accident:

Make Sure Everyone Is Okay
-Call first for emergency help if needed for injuries
-You will have plenty of time later to call in the claim
Be Safe
-Make sure it is safe to leave the vehicle
-Get away from further danger in the road
There Is No Need To Admit Fault
-You will have a chance to tell your side of the story when making the claims report.
Collect Insurance Information
-Safely take photos of accident for all vehicles if you can
-Ask for the name and contact information of driver and passengers
-Avoid conversations with people whose emotions may be escalated
-Record vehicle information (year, make, and model)
-Record license plate numbers
-Ask for insurance information, if police are called, they will usually do this for you
-Record accident location, intersection, street name that may be available
Get A Copy Of Police Report
-Ask if anyone was cited at the accident
-Ask for police report if provided
Call for Claims department or tow company
-Many insurance companies will call a tow company for you now
-If not, call a tow company and keep receipt to turn in later
When convenient, call to report claim

Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance can cover so much more than just towing expense or reimbursement. Some insurance companies will ask you to call the towing company of your choice and turn in a receipt to get reimbursed. Other insurance will help you find a tow truck or even use your cell phone location to get help to where you are disabled. Some of the different types of coverage that can be included in emergency roadside assistance are:

Catastrophic Claims Assistance

Many of our preferred insurance carriers have catastrophic claims assistance. In times of major losses like devastating weather events like hurricanes, flooding, tornadoes, forest fires, etc. most of our insurance carriers have mobile catastrophic claim units. These teams will come to an affected area and handle the large number of customer inquiries, claim questions, and help needed to restore our clients back to the quality of life they previously enjoyed.
